A special free Old Heart screening ahead of Memorial Day features cast and crew. Michgian Veterans Affairs Agency Director Terry Sabo will speak prior to this screening.. His predecessor and Old Heart costar Zaneta Adams will talk about the film and her military serviceAmerican military following the movie. She will be joined by Co-Director Kirk Wahamaki, lead actor Edward Gaines and producer Roger Rapoport.

Old Heart has won eight best feature honors at film festivals worldwide as well as 20 other honors for acting, cinematography, editing, the score, costuming and screenplay. In addition to honoring our black soldiers who have fought for our country back to the American Revolution, Old Heart, is a tribute to elder independence. The film shows how people from vastly different backgrounds can find common ground. It also is a hopeful look at humanitarian relief during a time of war.

Set in Detroit and the Netherlands, Old Heart was filmed in Michigan and the Dutch community of Veldhoven. Twenty-three Michigan actors are featured in the film.
